With year-round babbling brooks, fields, forest, and seasonal gardens, this magical 1850's farm provides the perfect backdrop for all counseling sessions and Marriage Quest retreats. |

 | Over a five-year period the 1850s farmhouse has been completely refurbished with super energy efficiency as well as structural enhancement. Their home is re-sided with boards of wood milled from their own trees, clear stained to glow in the sunlight, complete with "new-to-us" exterior windows and doors. Their kitchen has homemade cabinets and butcher block counters made from oak cut from the Helfand's own wooded areas, and dried on the homestead for three years before using. The new 9x38 foot counseling room with full bath is a comfortable space for discussing personal and relationship problems. |

The Farm Experience Israel and Cathie chose to move to an old farm in rural Vermont to raise their two children, DJ and Amanda, and to grow their own food. Today, in their refurbished post-and-beam barn, pigs, sheep, cats, and chickens enjoy life together. The Helfand's free-range chickens make plenty of fresh eggs for all to enjoy. |
